lets see it uses small block mounts, small block bell houing bolt pattern, it shares the same heads bolt pattern as a 302/351w with mods to water passages they bolt on, (although theres no reason to ever down grade to a windsor style head) unless class rules dont allow the cleves canted valves

i might be young (23) but ive owned 26 mustangs so far ive had various models from 65 and up and ive had several 71-73 cars that had cleves and i have one sitting behind me as we speak dont mean to sound like a smartass but i do know my stuff

Im sure you do, and you just did prove that, thats basically what i was gonna to post, but all in all, not a small block, just because all the stuff it has/uses doesnt classify it a small, Its ectually in the 335 family(which is often considered "big block"/ right between the FE and 385 family).
Another thing, the heads are the only part interchange-with work done do them like you said, intake manifolds arent, and small block parts wont interchange with the 351-C, anyway you porbbaly knew this already tho, and no you dont sound like a smart ***, hope i dont neither.......

the dist is swapable between the 351w and alot of aftermarket 351w use 351c cranks for there smaller main journal size(to allow quicker revs) but eventhe 351m/400 are stillconsidered small block and are an entirely different animal as its tall deck etc and uses big block style mounts(a few use small block bell housing though)
