Default No more transmission...

Well about 2 hours ago, me and a friend went to have a friendly race, he is in his modified lt1 camaro and i was driving my kenne bell 2.2 347 stroker, we did it from a roll b/c he knew from a dig it was pointless for him, so at a 10mph roll we race. First and second were all mine, went to throw to third and BOOM, tranny goes out, i guess 16psi of boost is too much for the little tko 500 . I guess its time to convert to AOD, any suggestions on a tranny that can take abuse from a 615rwhp 690rwtq monster?

my tko's seen over 800whp/wtq (on a mustang dyno known as the heartbreakersince it puts out much lower #'s than the local dynojet)...driven/launched regularly with 720+whp without issue (knock on wood)...but it's modified/built. stock they're only rated at 550ft/lb'sat the crankso you really shouldn't be surprised. many stock one's have lasted a long time with much more power than they're rated for though. there's plenty of tranny options out there for you, search around

i can get ahold of an art carr stage III aode w/ manual re. valve body, 1pc input shaft and all that good stuff. its pretty strong. it has literally seen less than 100 miles prolly closer to 40-50. its one of my buddies trans and his reason for getting rid of it is because his cartech turbo 5.0 sn-95 blew up on the dyno from going lean[&o]. now he's goin real big and he wants to get rid of everything. its like a $3600 trans and he'll probably give you the stall converter w/ it which i believe is only like a 2800 stall for pretty cheap. i guess the only difference between the aod and the aode is the tailshaft and obviously the elect overdrive switch. let me kno if your interested.

Try Lentech for a street/strip AOD if thats what you are leaning towards.

And turbostang21... I HATE YOU! "my tko's seen over 800whp/wtq (on a mustang dyno known as the heartbreakersince it puts out much lower #'s than the local dynojet)...driven/launched regularly with 720+whp without issue "

if you saw my box of reciepts you wouldn't be so jealousnot to mention its on stands in the driveway with the engine out[8D]nothing wrong but it had about 20k mileson it and with the kind of power it makes and abuse it takes i'd rather spend a1k - 1.5k(parts/labor) for new bearings/seals/rings than many g's to build another engine

i completely agree w/ ya on goin with the manual as im choosing to go that route right now from an aod, but if you decide to go with an auto let me kno. i can get one hell of a deal from that trans. i think he wanted $2000 for it and thats for over $4000 in parts that aren't even broken in yet! he just needs money for his new plans. he's also got a P.M.S. for like 750 and its got the 3 bar map option if anybody is interested?
