GT40p heads
I have heard that these heads(off an explorer) require special headers, plug wires,etc...???????
Are they really that much better than stock 5.0 heads?
What type of gains should I expect?
I plan to be using a Ford E-cam.
I will be using a carb instead of fuel injection for now.
Between aedelbrock performer or performer rpm intake,
which would be the more ideal intake for the cam?I just want everthing to match up.I'm looking to build a strong street car I can take to the track although this will not be my daily driver.Probably just to the track and back with occasional trips to town.
Still trying to make up my mind between a 5 speed and a C-4.

Im pretty sure the P's do require special headers and wires. I believe FRPP, MAC & BBK all make the headers for them though (dont quote me on that one though). and for the wires, no big deal its just the angle.
Are they really that much better than stock 5.0 heads? Yes, installing them will yield you pretty nice power gains... port them and they can flow damn good numbers.

Depends, just heads? heads, cam, etc.?
I plan to be using a Ford E-cam. Eh, nice cam for a bolt on street car. There are better options out there though.

If its just going to be a track car/cruiser I would go w/ the C4. C4, manual VB, big stall, trans brake!

RE: GT40p heads
I have the GT-40p heads with MAC full length headers. I went with MSD custom cut-to-fit wires with 90 deg boots. Burnt off a nice set of Accel wires with 45 deg boots first though. Changing plugs is fun too, I had to grind the hell out of a socket to get it to rotate in between the spark plug and the header and use a piece of square stock to turn it.
