It's a possibility that it will hold upas long as you are not leaving on a transbrake. If you are dead set on keeping the 28 spline rear end for a long time, I'd atleast look into a set of hardened axles.

Hell I'm leaving on a 3000 rpm stallwith drag radials with a blown fox, it's done fine so far (knock on wood). Your car isn't going to foot brake stall near what the actual stall rating is. That number that you just gave me is the rating if you had a transbrake. You'll be launching your car around 1800-2000 rpms with the foot brake, you should be alright.
