Pleaaaasseee someone help, I am trying to get this done, and I don't want to take unessacary steps, Im a beginner so I don't know a lot.
Hey I just want to thank you guys for the help, this is a great site, and special thanks to MDVALDOSTA and VFAST and 84STANG, you ugys are very knowledgable.
looking at the lifter may indicate some wear but most likely when one is going bad it's in the plunger area inside the lifter...with this many miles..I would pull them one by one and do a visual check and look at the rollers on the lifter...clean before installing back in..get a new oil pump screen and rod ...then fill with a good 10-40 oil

10-40? Why would ya? I run 10-30 in mine and it has 140000, runs like a champ with excellent oil pressure. Running higher viscocity oil than recomended will build up sludge, and hide some problems too.

10w-40 for say castrl gtx high milage oil is good because the thicker oil will helpt only with leaks but longer life for rods pistons ect ect 10-30 works great to but running 10-40 wouldnt hurt the car a bit mine has 163,000 and i runs castrol gtx high milage oil in mine and it runs like a bat outta hell. So as long as your not going crazy like 20w-50 or somthing like that it should b fine
