90 Mustang LX stalls when AC is turned on
So I have a 1990 Mustang LX (V8 5.0) that stalls when you turn the AC on. The car runs great without the AC running and doesn’t have any check lights lit and NO errors stored in memory. When you turn on the AC and drop below 30MPH and/or come to a dead stop the car will surge and act like it’s going to stall then it does. The RPM gage will go from about 700RPM to 200RPM (at idol) and back up a few times before it stalls. The Battery volt meter will do the same thing. Go from ¾ to ¼ and back. This happens more when you first start the AC. It you let it run for a while doing more then 30MPH it will “usually” be fine. When the AC is running it seems like there is a lack of power as well. Any ideas are welcome!!
