you want dex/merc. just below it says "also used for dextron III" mercon V is for chysler trans IIRC.

and that vent hole, there is actually a plastic tube that fits inside there and has a top hat on it. works like a valve cover breather.

.....and you used the wrong "here"

lol

i worked on that sob like 8hrs yesterday and got 4hrs of sleep last night...and had to take the tailshaft housing off like 4 or 5 times because I kept messing up and trying to troubleshoot so yeah I bet I cant spell today.
Ill see if I can monkey up some kind of thing for that vent.

So no mercon V then....

it'll say what trans they are used for on the back. what i used was merc/dex cause below it says use for dextron III and on the back of the bottle it says for ford standard trans.

and for a vent...if you cant get ahold of the right one just get some real fine mesh and cut a decently sized square and RTV it down to junk doesnt get in there.

Hey

put it all back together today and tried it out...nailed it. Fist gear is a bit tight but everything else is perfect. Got up to 85mph for sec in 5th to test vibration and there was none....totally smooth. Before top speed was about 80ish and the whole car was vibrating very bad by 100mph something would have grenaded Im sure. But at 70 it was totally smooth it came on fast and got worse even faster. Im glad I got that taken care of..probably the tailshaft bushing.

The only snag today was reinstalling the driveline. Everything had went sooo smooth today I couldnt believe my luck. Then when I installed the driveline it wouldnt fit into the bushing...I had to pull the tailshaft housing off and hone the goddamn bushing out until the drive shaft slid in....3 hrs later I got back to were I was and put the DS back in and filled it up with oil and tried it out....Im so glad it didnt give me anymore ****!

thanks for your help guys
