Exclamation 87 lx hatchback I NEED INPUT!!

so i have primered 87 lx hatchback.. bad hinges, handles, rust bondo, needs new tubs, carpeting, corner lights, and brake lights, loose clutch cable, needs new inner fender.. a slew of problems i could fix reasonably easy.. but heres my predicament.. i want a gt, saleen or cobra something fast.. but its an lx.. should i just restore it considering i want something this car isnt, or should i go for the body kit, flares, cobra intake and so on? i hear that lx's are in demand.. i look at prices online and i find many restored lx's worth more than gt's and beefed up engines.
so heres the question.. restore it for resale and get the muscle car i want or mod the lx into the muscle car i want?
i only paid 1100 for it and as i price things out its needs list is cheaper and i think i'd be able to come out with more cash if i just restore it.
at this point im leaning towards restoring it for the money(so i can buy another f-body 5.0liter
it already has a 303 cam and E7? milled heads. atleast i was told..

any comments from other f-body entusiasts would be great. let me know what you think

that was agonizing to read dude. you need sentence structure, punctuation and grammer skills.

sounds like you paid a lot for a problem. if you're up to the job i say fix it. keep in mind fixing problems gets pricey.

if you just want to mod and not fix things all the time i say buy a nice fox to start with.

The closer the car is to the way you want it when you start the better. I've learned that the hard way, as have many others on here I'm sure.

That car sounds like a pile. sell it and save some more money to get a clean GT if that's what you want.

Restoring for resale is never worth it with a car that isn't super rare and desirable (no fox mustang is either). Even if you're good at body work and a competent mechanic.

maybe it sounds worse than it is.. it runs and drives and hauls *** at that .. to me thats worth a 1000.. rust is mainly surface except for in front of the rear tires on the quarter panel... handles and new hinge pins will run me 20 a handle and like 10 bucks for hinge pins.. loose clutch capable is loose because it has no retainer clip on the fire wall, bbk has an adjustable firewall piece for 30 bucks.. so thats its "problems" in a nut shell other than being ugly and missing its inner wheel well idk how dont even ask. i have 2 quarts of white paint and plenty of bondo.. i think i'll just spot weld the tubs and throw carpeting in it.
so basically what im thinking of now is making it a shiny D.i.c.k and moving on to something i want.. a guy who offered to buy it last weekend mentioned he got 4500 out of an 87 lx resto project.
dont mistake my ramblings for stupidity, its not a lack of knowledge towards the english language or grammer, more so my style of writing i guess... ... thanks for the brain activity guys i appreciate it.

Well just FYI you may get better responses if you fix your "writing skills".

Anyway, you have a project on your hands. It sounds like mine but I only paid $250 for it. If you don't know LX's and GT's are same when you talk about performance. LX's are generally faster because they are lighter and have better aerodynamics. You can get a good amount out of a clean fox but you might as well build it for yourself and put what you want into it rather than spending 3gs to fix it selling it for 4-5g's and trying to buy another.
