Default belt routing- no smog, a/c or p/s

there must be drag racers on here with only a water pump and alternator on a 5.0. How did you route the belt and can you remember what size belt you used? pics would be great

Thats probably the shortest belt I've ever seen thats not on a lawnmower lol,
What is that 52"?

I would actually rather it loop completely around the water pump with a Idler and tensioner, but with just a water pump and alternator. But then again I'm paranoid about belt slip with all the pulleys in my engine bay.

Measure it out, do it right the fist time, take a rubber measuring tape, something that doesn't stretch, route it the way you think best, smooth pulleys run on the backside of the belt the ribbed pulleys run on the ribbed side of the belt.

Get your measurement, shave 2" off to allow for tensioning... There you go.

I took the minimalist approach with this car. If it didn't need it, it just didn't get it. Simple , light and effective. I'm using a high flow water pump as well. It doesn't slip. I'm not sure about the length of the belt. I keep the belt sleeve in the glovebox in case I have to buy one.

I have a very long Serp belt I cut and use for custom belt routing. It's the best thing for measuing it out. I keep a silver sharpie with it. It has so many marks I have to date the mark so I dont measure the wrong one.
