question on 3G alternator 1 wire
#2
there is not a stock wire on the car that is rated to take 175amps, the factory grounds are a thin 8 awg... You would be just as safe with out a fuse as you would with a 175 amp as the power wires should either almost melt by then or do some unwanted welding.
Sounds like you are installing a factory replacement alt?

i got it off corral. i found out it has a fuse with the kit. i have an external regulator from the old alternator...do i just unplug it and take off the regulator? Should i cut any of the wires that plugged into the old alt or should i just wrap them in electrical tape?

I have a question pertaining to 1wire alternators as well, I put a 1 wire alt i got from summit on my 5.0 carbed ranger to bypass all the wiring mess and nightmare I have, my question is what gauge wire should i be running from the wire to the alternator?
