Well even with 140k on the clock, do you know how it was treated those 140? Ragged, on beat on daily, or garaged and grandpa drove long trips to see the grandkids? To get it to run LIKE new, then /\/\ said would apply.

Or what I would do is just give it a complete tune up, check all the hoses / belts and replace if needed and then go from there.

Give the top end a make over. (Valve job, lifters, pushrods) Usually the bottom end is ok. Hard to tell without more info.

Lifters and pushrods will not make an engine run like new.

I'd start off with ALL fluids including brake, cooling and power steering.

A complete ignition tune up and clean throttle body, intake and IAC motor.

You would be amazed with what a valvetrain upgrade can do.

I bought my 89 GT with 160,000 miles on it and it barely ran or shifted. I gave it a complete tune up and changed all the fluids.

It runs like new and has for 2 years so far, I even gave a 350 z a run he wont forget!
Now I dont beat on it much and dont drive it everyday but its turned out to be pretty reliable. ( I shouldnt have said that,,now something will tear up.)

Here is the basic list for you: engine oil/filter, fuel filter, air filter, distributor cap, spark plugs, plug wires, clean the MAF, change both O2 sensors, flush the radiator, bleed/flush the brakes, check hoses and replace if needed, change rear differential fluid, flush PS fluid, change/flush tranny fluid, check suspension bushings and replace if needed.

If I am missing something feel free to add.
