My 1990 gt when its running I can hear a hissing noise coming from behind the sreeting wheel area I think it has some kind of vacumme leak or aomething cause when I turn the car off I can hear it get fainter and stop and if I mash the break after I cut it off it goes away faster any ideas as to what is the problem? It drives me crazy when I'm driving around and its hissing

replace the brake booster

Check for leak at vacum dump valve for cruise at brake pedal.

reminds me of my 89, everytime i drive the odometer sounds like one of those wind-up toys you get in a happymeal
