Default Grooved Heads??

I'm new the the forum so please forgive any newbie mistakes I make.
I first saw this in of all places "Farm Show" magazine. This was an article about cutting grooves into the combustion chamber to aid in turbulence and fuel burn. So far, I've read in several other forums that are dedicated to racing and the ones who have tested the concept have shown improved 1/4 mile times, lap times and more efficient fuel usage. All from a couple of properly cut grooves in the combustion chamber. I'm not ready to do this to my '95 GT but it sure got my attention. I'm not a racer so my GT is stock all the way but I'm always looking for ways to make things better. At first I thought this was snake oil but the more I read on the racing forums, I'm not so sure. Searched on here but so far, I've found no one posting this mod.
Any thoughts??

Interesting....don't waste your time...

There are many other ways to improve power from where you are right now. Do your basic bolt ons first.

Yeah, I'm not ready to jerk the heads off of my newly rebuilt engine just yet... I'm really not looking to get more HP out of it (my daughter drive it to school) but if I can get a more complete fuel burn with something as simple as some grooves cut in the chamber; can it be that easy? I know, "why haven't the real engine builders done this yet?"

IMO its probably more of a theory than anything....kinda like the tornado things that you can put in your intake tubing to cause the swirling affect....

It will however make your combustion chamber larger which wil reduce your compression..

I've seen things like this before, but I don't know how effective they are. If people are seeing positive results with it its worth looking into. It certainly wouldn't hurt asking a machine shop how much it'd be, would probably be more costly to the mind makin sure you're doing them right

its an old old old trick to create a better flame front in the cylinder. Most heads now-a-days will not benefit from this.
