Default Top end...

Is the top end on a '95 GT slow. Cause my car will accelerate damn good til about 3500 rpms and then almost stop accelerating but the rpms still go up. What could i do to fix that. That the only thing wrong with it besides the water temp. Is it doing it because it runs at around 210?

yeah the top end sucks

you basically stated the problem, the powerband ends at like 4000

think about it, and engine capable of 300+hp only making 200? somethings wrong with the top end...

Yeah the top end on stock 5.0s is pretty poor. As for the water temp, 210 doesn't sound that high, the stock t-stat is roughly 195.

A good Heads/Cam/Intake combo would do your car wonders. I did notice a big difference by just adding an intake manifold. It slightly moves your powerband up, allowing your car to develop slightly better top end. The heads are your main restriction. Some gears would help you as well throughout the rpm
