boost and timing question on 347 stroker
hey guys i need some help i'm trying to keep my motor in one pice.
ok i have a 347 stroker supercharged 10.1 compression on 7-8 psi and need healp on a little tuning i'm using a tweecer to tune with and i also have a wide band o2.. i need to know how much timming to run at first and then go up from there. i have been doing some resurch and people say to start at 12% some at 10% of timming now i dont understang if they are talking of base timming or total timing?? i know my motor NA likes 36% total timing..
also what would be a good a/f??? i was thinking 12.5

Total timing I would start low and work up. Like a half degree every pull. I am not sure what my timing is at because I didn't tune it but, I believe it is around 18 total.
The air fuel ratio of 12:5 is a little lean. My car runs best at 11:8.
I will probably go 12:1 on my next tune and add meth. That way if the meth fails I won't blow anything up.

thanks for ur healp got it on the dino and she put out 490whp and 497wtrq on 6psi with pump gas.. i had set my total timing at 14% then wint up to 19%
air/fuel was right at 11.8, i only got to do 3 pulls for 80 bucks and this is what we got..

ok guys i have my methanol set up on my car now and was woundering how much timing should i add now that im on meth can any one give me an idea? my buddy said to run 3* so that would put me right at 22* total.. or would it need more?

after the charger. im at 22* right now just got back from the track and ran a 10.7 at 128 my a/f at 11.4 to keep it safe.. think i can creep up the timing a lil at a time just kinda want to know how much would beto much

Running post compressor, you really don't have to worry about the meth upping the boost. If running pure meth, I would think you would be fine with 3 degrees. I would get a baseline and then turn on the meth and see where it starts to speed up. My last motor was 9:5:1 and would run on 26 degrees.

hey guys here is a up date.. got retuned on methanol on 6 psi and maid 500whp and 501wtrq. total timing was 26* so i only gaind 10hp and 5 torque from b for.. max trq was at 4500 and max hp was at 4800,at 5500 my power died off bad.. so now i took off the v1-b charger and instald a new vortech v3 and puts out 9psi runs way better. right now i have my timing set at 20 total and 11.4 a/f till i get it on the dino again.. i know im pushing the limets and will dino it soon to see what she puts out if i can keep it in one pice!!
still 500whp is fun tho but i want to be in the 550whp.
