How do I get them nice and shiny?

RE: How do I get them nice and shiny?
I feel your pain on getting any kinda parts if you live or have lived in the West Texas area. I grew up in McCamey among the oilfield and desert. Odessa and Midland were the closest "big" cities...Fort Stockton was pretty much next for big city action. However, I remember a ton of old classics could to be found in most of those places, mostly parked in the front yards...the good old days!!!

Try sweating out in Presidio guys. If Texas ever got an enema, the tube would be inserted through this place! You are correct about being able to find some gems out in the desert, though. There are a few around here. I keep my eyes open for a good bargain.

I bought Ol' Yeller in Fort Stockton. It was advertised in the Midland Reporter Telegram newspaper. After teaching all over Texas for 18 years, then teaching overseas for another 18 years, I have a retirement home in the hill country near Austin. Presidio, huh? Man, I feel for ya. You are right about the enema thing.

The vaseline will help keep the moisture off the rims. Next Spring you will have a dirty mess to contend with though. If you are really serious about keeping them clean and moisture free during the winter, then jack up the car, put it on blocks and take your wheels inside the house where you will have a moisture free environment. Mama may have something to say about that though.
