gt 40 casting numbers

gt 40 casting numbers
i saw a pair of heads off a 1996 explorer for a pretty good price the other day, casting number was an F3. ( ive heard that thats the number im looking for?) yet, ive come across other people saying that the number for gt40s is F6...im a little confused. is one more desirable the the other?
