Default rebuilding - but timing chain or gears?

so as im going through this rebuild.. obviously im replacing the timing chain, but then i thought.. which would be better, replace the chain or go to a gear setup which is about the same price? whats the pros and cons over it?

No reason to use gears on a street motor. They're nice for making sure your timing is dead on (and adjustable), but they're noisy. A good double roller chain will work great for you.

i used a gear drive last time, and i can tell you from firsthard experience i would never use one again.

and btw, "quiet" gears still sound like a bad power steering pump

isn't exactly going to be street - that's not what this cars primary purpose is but i was wondering if they were worth it or not due to the slippage and wearing out of chains and stuff.

The factorychain are crap with their nylon-coated gear teeth, but aftermarket double roller chains are great. They aren't going to give you any issues.
