The Pertronix upgrade sounds great. I've been considering it for a long time for my 73 Mach, Cleveland 4v.

Are you upgrading your plug wires as well? I've been wondering if I would need better wires to carry the increased voltage.

With a wider gap, you get a hotter sustained spark. By doing that, you burn more of the raw gas introduced into the firing chamber. Some other Mustangers alledge that makes no difference, but I think it just makes sense. You can try it out to see if it makes a difference in your car. Set the plugs to factory 0.032 and run it for awhile. Then, set the plugs to 0.040 or higher and see if it makes a difference in you car's performance. It won't be much, and you will be burning out plugs sooner than their life expectancy, but I think it is worth it for the performance gain.

Right now im leaving the wires i have in it on there, but i believe some low resistence wires would tie in nicely with the low resistence coil. That way the current would travel faster without some much drag.
