Default 1965 Mustang Shakes Badly When In Gear

recently had the engine and transmission rebuilt (6 Cyl, 200) The engine idles fine until I put it in gear. It then shakes very badly, it does the same thing when being driven. When I take the vehicle out of gear it smooths out. What is going on?

When he puts it in gear,
Check to make sure all the vac lines are hooked up. Tranny shop may have disconnected something and forgot to pu tit back.

+1 the vac lines were off of mine and it would be ok at idle when in park but when it got put in drive it would shake badly. It wasn't bad at first but it got to where the car would roll with the brakes fully applied because the car would shake so bad the brakes couldn't hold it still. Plugged the vac lines and it runs really smooth now.

there's a vacuum modulator on the tail section of the C4, very back passenger side, just in front of the crossmember. Check and see if that vacuum line has pulled out.
