289 with GT40P heads

289 block won't have the boss on the side of the block to mount a dipstick. first gen mustangs have the dipstick in the timing cover. other than that and the distributor drive gear the blocks are interchangeable up until the roller cam blocks. even then the blocks are interchangeable except for the cam base circle and lifter bores.

cool thats all i needed to know. the engine had the heads taken off and regasketed by my brother and my dad 10 years ago but i dont really trust their work. im gunna just break it down and throw all new gaskets and the new heads on it in a day and hopefully have it in the car the fallowing day. soon after the 65 will go on craigslist for sale as long as my brother is ok with that.
