How big is your radiator?
Yea I know it does ok at highway speeds but...
A cooling system that is marginally satisfactory with iron heads, might be marginally unsatisfactory with aluminum heads...
On Saturday I installed an aluminum radiator with a 2" core in favor of the 2 row copper rad on my 85 Mustang, it made all the difference,,,,
A 2 row that is half plugged up doesn't make it...

I had a new 3 row copper radiator and was getting to 210 or 220 on the highway. I dont have A/C but have a shroud and flex fan.
About a month ago I purchased a champion 2 row aluminum radiator and it has done wonders. When installed the new radiator I also installed a new aluminum water pump from Autozone and filled the system with 33% antifreeze 66% water with a bottle of water wetter.
I went from getting to 210-220 in the Houston heat to not being able to get above 185-190 after my 185 degree Tstat opens.
My copper 3 row was slightly clogged and i think that was part of my problem but the larger tube size on the 2 row should help prevent that in the future.
