Default Choke tube runs to nowhere

I have a 67 I6 200 with the auto lite 1100 carb. I have a choke tube that runs from it to...nothing. I've tried looking in the manual and it says to remove it to disconnect it from the exhaust manifold, but I have yet to find the place to connect it. This is my first classic car so you may need to dumb it down for me or draw it with crayons.

I don't believe the location for the choke tube port is different for the 65 or 67. Check the attached photo of my 65 engine. You will see the choke tube running to a hole right around the middle of the manifold, roughly between the #3 and 4 exhaust ports.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes that hole is plugged, or if you have a header, as I do, you can clamp a longer choke tube to the exhaust pipe or header to achieve the same result, which is to draw heat up the tube to the automatic choke. Mine is clamped to a header pipe and works great.
