What engine do I have???Help??? Autolite plugs on 5.0
So I bought a 1973 mustang for a restoration project, the man I bought it from didnt know much about the car he told me the previous owner told him it had a motor from a 1993 or 1994 5.0 cobra. He said he didnt know if the car turned on or ran as it had been sitting for a long time.
As soon as i got the car home I change out the wires and put new plugs in like the ones it already had autolite 145s. The car turned on and idled I drove it and it turns out transmission only has 1st and 2nd gear.
The motor has a eddelbrock dual carburator, I need to find out what motor this car is running, to find out if it has the correct tranny or if I start modifying it I need to know the specs on this engine.
Is there anyway to tell what motor this car has, what do I look for, what motors use the autolite 145 spark plugs. Everything I researched said the 73 5.0 uses autolite 45 and 87-95 5.0 use autolite 24-26 couldnt find any info on 5.0s using autolite 145s.

Post some pictures for us.
Also, on most Ford blocks the casting number is behind the starter. You might have to pull the starter to get to it. You can then google the casting block number or if you have access to some books, and see what it is from there.
