If you bore your engine out and put some nice racing heads then i would say go for it, but those carbs dont need to be more than 600cfm each.

There really is no need for 2 4 barrels at all IMO. A Hi performance engine, even with some aluminum heads shouldn't need more then 1 750 cfm carb, if that.

I've been very lucky about my cooling system. My car hasn't overheated one time. and it's totally stock, well i just put on a new water pump, but it's stock too. Tyler, what ever happened witht your water pump?

My dad screamed at mustangs unlimited because they told us that cast iron and aluminum stock water pumps were the same. They ended up taking the blue aluminum water pump back and giving us the right one. I think ill be fine as i wont be going very far in my mustang. Im 5 min away from everything.

Yeah, i bought a cheap $20 cast iron from Advance auto parts, i could have bought an aluminum one for the same price, but with a $10 core, so it was a rebuilt one anyway.

i used to have HUGE cooling issues with mine. Then i swapped out the head gaskets, put hardened valve seats in the heads, & a 19" flex fan & no shroud.
During this last rebuild, i took to long to do it & lost a few parts, one being my 19" flex fan. Found a nice 15" that fits inside my stock shroud, so im trying that this time around. I also just switched from a 2bbl carb & cast iron intake to a Perf289 & a Holly 600, hopefully the Alum intake will allow it to breath a bit better & not retain so much heat.
