Hahaha, that's true.

A downside to the stock suspension, it has more aggressive feedback. Which is good when setup right, but bad when not.

well, i have a 66 with a 289, factory power steering, 17 x 8 wheels with wide front tires. i drive it a lot around town for running errands. I am also concidering the borgenson unit. I have heard good things about it. would it be eaier to install or about the same. both are bolt in, correct?

A Borgeson style unit would likley be easier to install. And also won't require an alignment.

I had a Borgeson style in an early bronco and it really was effortless even with 12" wide tires. One finger could spin the wheel, but the feedback was nil.

Would I put one in my car if I drove it everyday and in traffic...probably.

im looking for better driving feel and handling. Currently with the power steering i can turn the wheel with a single pinky but i get zero response from the road. not only that there is a ton of play in the tie rod ends. so i figured that i would need to replace a lot of the parts i might as well just do a rack system.

Replace the worn parts, and just swap in a KRC pump.

The biggest issue with the factory PS was the pump pressure was in the stratosphere. Makes it REALLY easy to turn the wheel but also robs you of all your feedback. Bump steer kits come with good ends these days that last forever, and the KRC pumps connect the hoses through a flow control fitting, you can change the system pressure by simply changing fittings. You can pick the balance of feedback and effort you want.

The handling is all suspension and alignment.

Personally, I'd save the money from a rack and put it towards bitchen suspension. Well, I did actually....all that's left is an ABS Borgeson type box and a KRC pump. Manual FR box for now.

It all depends on what you want to do and what you have to spend.
