Quick Question on CAI/Tuner & OCTANE!
#11
wow, i would have never thought it would be that bad, damn......
i waited, tank was very low, filled up on 93 octane, installed the CAI, loaded the C&L tune from the predator.
Strange thing is:
I feel no difference in the car from the "87 octane performace tune" with the stock air box, To the 91/93 octane C&L tune with the CAI.
Is this normal?
Is a custom tune needed to benefit the car more from the cai?
Has anyone compared the original diablosport tune for their intake to a bama/bren tune, on otherwise stock cars?

The difference between an 87 octane modded tune with the stock air intake, and a 91/93 octane modded tune with a CAI is less noticeable, until the engine reaches higher rpm's(4500+) at WOT. That's when the higher hp benefits of the latter setup become apparent.

Suggest doing some WOT comparisons between the stock and modded setups. You should feel improved acceleration in the higher rpm's with the latter.

yeah i guess there is some more high end power with the cai, and the car certainly sounds better.
but i was hoping for another big boost of more throttle and low/mid power like when going from the stock tune to the diablo 87 tune.
oh well.
f/i awaits
gotta get an axleback to hold me over to spring
