Bah, I’m not allowed on the track anymore

RE: Bah, I’m not allowed on the track anymore
if you are into drags why would you get a convertible? Trade it for a coupe.
I would hate to see you get in a wreck going over 100 in either model, but you are risking your life in a vert as well as the track's good safety record.
Personally I'd never race in a convertible, even with a full cage.
I hope anyone considering racing their GT get yourself a good full face helmet, proper clothing, and even race harnesses and don't go on the track if you can't meet all the rules.
We are trying to have more places to race and injuries or deaths will kill any progress made in that area.

Don't get me wrong, my vert will not see a track as long as I own it. I was just curious.
EDIT: But on the other hand, I shouldn't be allow to drag race my Suzuki 1200 Bandit m/c?

I didn't get the vert so I could race, but I'd like to put her through some paces every now and again because being heavy footed is much safer at a track then it is on the open road.
What I'd really like to find but I know they are rare is a track with twisties where some mid to high speed touring can be done. That would rock hard core. I know of a few roads in NH and VT where this can be done, but still I don't like taking risks on public roads, no matter how safe the situation is perceived to be.

I've heard that tax payers can apply for a road closure, the same as film or commercial companies. You know those twisting roads the cars eat up on tv? If there's a road with no residents or intersections you might try it.
Anyone know the way this is done?
How do those guys on tv that do those test drives? I saw them running one of those new Chrysler 300s on a public road that looked close to other traffic
