Default 5.1 stroker cylinder head decision

Building a 5.1 stroker for my 02 GT. I'd like to get a set of Patriot Performance 4.6/5.4 heads but they're about $1600. They claim to add 45-50 RWHP on their website although I know these are probably miracle numbers. Would I be better off porting and polishing my stock P.I. heads? How much does that usually cost and what kind of performance gain will I see? (RWHP, track times)

This is the wrong side of the forum but if I were looking for heads for a 2V I would look into nothing else than TFS.
