Default 2012 mustang dead pedal???

Hey guys I'm new to the fourm so ill introduce myself, my names vic and I'm a proud owner of a new 2012 v8. I enjoy the detail that was put into the new pony car, however there's one major detail they left out... The deadpedal? After shifting a couple gears I notice I don't know where to put my foot because I don't want to ruin the soft carpet material where the deadpedal should be.

I checked winter mats at the dealer, thinking they may have mats the cover it but no luck because they were pretty much the same size as the stock matts. I currently have a piece of paper covering the carpet material so it won't get dirty and muddy from my shoes.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or can help because I don't wanna wear out the interior of my car from my foot resting off the clutch

You can get dead pedals that screw into the carpet. Alternatively, you can get Weathertec mats that cover the dead pedal area. Not everybody is into the durable rubber polymer look, though.

I too was wondering why no dead pedal? Anyway I ordered one from Classic Design concepts. It's pretty nice and machined to match the existing pedals in the car.

I'm not sure about the 2012 interior, but for the 05-09, You can get dead pedals that don't screw into the carpet. They just have kind of a hook that goes under the plastic panel.

I ordered the same one as knightryder. It is a little pricey...but it is definitely well made and as he mentioned...matches my factory pedals nicely. It took me about 20 minutes install time. I must say the edges were a little sharp, so before I installed it, I spent about 5 minutes on the grinder to ease the edges a bit. Also, if you install this product, get a 8-10" piece of nylon convoluted split wire loom to protect the wires that will pass over the bracket under the carpet.

Good luck!
