Default 2006 Saleen Alternator High Output

Hey guys, I've been having trouble with my Alternator. I went to American Muscle and bought a replacement. However the current 130 amp alternator has the connections on the opposite side as my old one. I went looking for pictures of the 200 amp alternator, and the connections seem to be closer to the original. Has anyone else had this problem with Saleen alternator being high output? I don't have a sound system (apart from the stock Shaker500), and the car is not supercharged. Will higher output alternator do anything better/different to the car? Thanks for the help guys!

130 amps is plenty for OEM use.

Sometimes the pictures are for representative use and dont
depict the actual item you will receive.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. However the connections on the new alternator on completely on opposite sides. I've tried to see if I could make it work, but it just seems like they are completely different. I wasn't sure if Saleen themselves replaced all their alternators so that they could add things. I know that the front pully is the color of my car (red fire) and it matches the other pully that they changed (now the colors match). So maybe they do replace them, just curious I anyone knows I they do.

They don't replace the alternator ,just the pulley.

That's what i thought too. Anyways, once the new alternator comes in I'll see if it's a better fit.

MythEyeLess,

I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience with you alternator! The Saleen alternator is a bit different from the design of your average GT & V6.

I see that you already have another Alternator on the way, let me know how that set up works & we will go from there!

Thanks for sticking it out with us while we get your situation handled!

What's the difference? As far as I know Saleen uses the stock Gt alternator with a pulley change and a different mounting.

Tbar,

Correct, The alternator is the same however the Pulley & Mounting bracket are different.

We have only attempted to test fit the kit on the GT's, So I'm not 100% what your seeing in front of you. When you get the new kit if you would like, Our Mustang Experts are here to help! They can run you through the install & help you troubleshoot.
