Two performance questions
#2
Well ur first question is easy the auto will win. Difference in time probably not much but the guy driving the stick isn't going to be able to shift as fast as the auto will. 14V6 hands down a better car in every aspect

1. It all depends on driving, but the average driver will loose to the auto prolly 9 out of 10 times I'm the qt mile. The auto trannys are super advanced and shift extremely well now days, plus launch control is amazing!!
2. The 14 V6 is a far better car than the 2004 and down SOHC 4.6. In more than just being fast but the ride and hadling ect...

two cents: last fall, we took our 2013 5.0 A6 and 2011 5.0 M6 to the track. Same 93 octane tune, same UPR ORX, basically stock other than that. The Auto car was on 18" drag radials and the manual car was on 18" street tires. The auto ran 12.30s @ 114 and I ran 12.20s @ 116 in the manual car.

Yeah, any good manual driver should be able to beat an automatic in straight-line acceleration. It's when you start adding big power and traction mods that the auto has an advantage.
With stock cars, the manual will be faster if you have the 3.73 gears. Add nothing more than a Bama 93R tune, and the power really comes on. It's all about how good you are with a manual, and how much you are willing to abuse your clutch and tires. I can launch my car very hard, with little wheel-spin, but it takes a toll on the clutch, so I don't do it often. Very rarely, in fact.
