98 Explorer 5.0 into '68 Mustang
Hello,
Hoping for some guidance.
I have a 98 Explorer with a 5.0. As I have the entire vehicle, I would like to drop both motor and AOD in as a unit. Looking to keep it very "simple", just to cruise down the road with dependability and max fuel economy. Have heard talk on getting special shorty headers due to the straight out plugs on the P heads. Why can't I just leave the original exh manifolds on? Can I simply supply 12V to the ECMs and minimize re-wiring for both motor and trans? New oil pan? Cooling fan? Best ones? Adapter items?
Would greatly appreciate specific advice from anyone who's been down this path.
Thanks!
