New Mustang Speculation

New Mustang Speculation
I talked to a guy yesterday that works at Romeo engine plant where the Mustang engines are built. He claims he has seen the new mustang and that V6 ecoboost will be in the car for 2010. He also said that the base engine will be a 5.0 with Ford shooting for hp numbers in the 375 range. He also said all the Boss editions are slated for a come back with the biggest Boss haveing the 6.2 in it. He also said that 2011 will be the last year for the shelby. Its just speculation, but the guy could be right on...He seemed like a straight shooter. We'll just have to wait and see, thought I would share though.

RE: New Mustang Speculation
i actually heard pretty much the same thing from a guy who works for Ford. He works with the F-150's but he says a lot of the Mustang guys are talking about new engines. Should be interesting to see. If the GT does move to a 5.0L 375HP V8 I would not at all regret waiting for the 2010 models instead of buying one now

RE: New Mustang Speculation
So the ecoboost is going to be the only 6er? I figured the 4.0 would stay for the base models. Don't think that ecoboost is cheap. If all this is true, I am in agreement with it. So the GT won't have as much power as the Camaro or Challenger. Big deal.If this Boss with a 6.2 comes out, it'll spank both of them. (I hope, otherwise WTF Ford.)
Hmmm with all these upgrades in power I'm gonna need to justify a supercharger for my ride [8D]

RE: New Mustang Speculation
yeah the 4.6 could make way more power. it is a good engine. this ignorant person from work said the 4.6 was a tiny engine. course he's a Dodge kid and stuck with the fact that displacement is everything. screw HEMI's they aren't even true Hemis its just a name. i'm for technology in engines instead of the old ways.

RE: New Mustang Speculation
So many people are like "really, that's it?" when I say it's 281ci. They of course think Mustangs still come with 302s, like they have since what... '68? It's like as if an extra 21ci magically makes it so much better. It may help, but it's not like it'll suddenly be a Corvette killer then.
