Hi all... New to the forum, but not new to ponycars. Had a built 83 GT from 91 thru 96 (till some bastard hit it) and I LOVED THAT CAR. My wifes ex husband, who is a good friend of mine, bought an 86 GT w/T-tops about 8 months ago. One ride in that thing brought all the old feelings back! Well, he is currently in a financial bind and hard up for cash. He offered me his car for $300!!!!! It runs really strong, and doesnt burn oil. It could use a paintjob, and someone just stole his pass side T-top, and he just bent his back rim thanks to a drift into a curb(but he has a replacement wheel on a donor car that I can have whatever i need from) Hell, he just put about 300 into a new clutch, pressure plate and trowout bearing! He also has all skirting from an 87-92 GT that I will be putting on. The synchros are going, as it has a grind going into second. I realize that this is somewhat of a project car, but I just couldnt pass it up. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!

I had a similar experience. I got mine for free with a blown out transmission. I had it rebuilt and haven't regreted it for minute. I think mine is in much worse shape than how you discribed yours, but it's still a whole lot of fun.
