Hey y'all, just bought a 2001 GT convertible
Here in central Florida the evenings are starting to get nice, so I told my wife the other night (while we were driving with the windows down and sunroof open in our SUV) that it is getting to be good convertible weather.
So yesterday I picked up a 2001 GT Convertible, silver, black top, 5-speed, black leather, 124k miles (clean carfax/3 owner/no accidents)...
Has Cobra or Cobra R wheels (not sure which, are thin 5-spoke chrome); Eibach springs (based on the obviously lowered stance and the Eibach sticker in the glove compartment); short-shift kit (and possibly something else to do with the shifting); "Accufab" billet MAF; and the typical Steeda billet appearance goodies that also include drilled pedals.
I think it looks pretty good (especially for what I paid) and it sounds good too. My favorite part has to be the way the shifter engages into each gear... very mechanical, notched and solid feeling. I think I am going to enjoy driving this the next 5-6 months.
Does have bad bits though... have to buy a new battery first thing in the morning (currently on an overnight trickle charge that is probably pointless) and hopefully not an alternator as well...
The Eclipse touch screen CD/DVD/GPS head unit looks cool, but previous owner removed parts of his sound and appears to have not reinstalled and/or reconnected the Mach 460 because there is no sound...
None of the four windows will go up or down...
Power top is currently a manual top, lol.
So while I get all that "little" stuff quickly worked out I'll just make do with the good drivetrain.
Thanks for checkin' out my noob post.

Hey bud!
What part of central Florida are you in? My family is from the Tampa area, mom's side from New Port Richie to the north, and dad's side from Bradenton to the south...
Good job on getting the convertible, it's the only way to drive! I plan on never having another hard top car again... Bummer about the windows and top needing work, but you'll get it all fixed and then enjoy the sweetness that is top down driving!
