New to Mustangs with a crazy question
I recently bought my first Ford, a 2011 Mustang. The wife and I enjoyed it so much we bought an 05 convertible the next week. After about a week I went to open the trunk on the 05 and it just turns and will not open. So I thought I would find the trunk pop in the glove box or on the dash. Nope, doesn't have one. Maybe I can lay the seats down? Nope. Maybe on the key there is a button. Nope. So perhaps I am missing something (do the seats fold down) but I have no idea how to get into my truck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Maybe the back seat folds down on the coups yourmom but my 05 convertible does not. NWAstang, if you have power door locks you should have a remote for the door locks, trunk activation and horn activation. Also I don't know why your key isn't opening your trunk. You may want to get that looked at.

I think there's been some confusion from the original question. The original post was about a convertible and having trouble with the trunk.
I'll have to admit I went back out to my convertible after seeing responses saying there was a fold down rear seat. I could not see anything to suggest it did and couldn't understand why it would. There's a top in between the seat and trunk.
I had to look up in the manual to see what I was missing and low and behold it said the 2nd seat/split-folding rear seat was for coupe only. Whew! I'm glad I'm not losing it. At least not yet.
But to answer the question asked by NWAstang, The rear seat does not fold down on the convertible.
