I need some help with finding a muffler for my '03 Mustang. My father has a
'72 El Camino with a V8 big block and flowmaster 40's and I want my Mustang to have the same deep, powerful growl. I know I'll never be able to match the sound of the Camino, but does anyone know of any mufflers that could get me close to that sound?

Super 40's or Super 44's. I have the Super 44's welded in and they growl pretty nice. I had an O/R X pipe on and it really freakin' screamed. Get those and it will be way loud.

it all depends on the money you want to spend. i have a v6 but it sounds like a GT because i got a full custom x pipe job with Flowmaster 40's. Magnaflow is a really great highend brand, but flowmaster is the all around good sound and performance muffler, and there a little cheaper so id go with flowmaster again. to add a noticable deep rich sound is just get a small cut out on one or both sides, or if your a B.A just gut the cats and put them back on (for inspectors, they only look if there 99.9% of the time), that will sure as hell give you a mean sound. if you do decide to gut the cats youl need to disarm the airflow sensor aka MIL senors in each of the cats. there about 50 to 70 bucks for a pair, because if you dont do this youl have your check engine light on forever. american muscle has a good price on them too.
