Replacing Shocks and Springs. Do I need Strut Mounts?
I'm about to purchase some Koni Orange STR.T shocks and SR Lowering Springs. After doing a lot of reading from different places, I've found conflicting views on whether I should also purchase/install upgraded Strut Mounts. Will the stock strut mounts be okay or should I upgrade to the GT500 strut mounts?
Back story.. Recently bought a 2012 V6 Mustang. Definitely a different ride than my RX-8. I loved the way the RX-8 handled. Doubt I can duplicate the feel of the RX8, but I would like to rid myself of the bounciness of the Mustang. Seems like I feel every imperfection in the road and the car gets loose on imperfect roads at high speeds.
So after a lot of reading it seems like the first step would be to upgrade the shocks and springs. But is the strut mounts also necessary?

It's hit and miss on the stock mounts, honestly. If you're going to go about it right (and it sounds like you are) then go ahead and do the strut mounts. Look into upper/lower control arms and a panhard bar for the rear as well. That should help settle the rear some, these cars go get a bit nervous on bumpy roads under acceleration.
