I was thinking last night, which car would win a 05 saleen n/a or a 2004 regular corvette with 350 hp? what u guys think.

I have a 2002 Saleen s/c and a 2001 C5 vette (auto). I have yet to get my wife to race me, but I would say the vette is faster in a straight line race.

I agree with Mike. In a straight line the vette wins. In a road course it's a driver's race. -But if I had to bet $ with equal drivers on a TIGHT road course, I'd bet on the Saleen. If the course wasn't so tight, I'd bet on the vette.

How about if the Vette, was a 03-04 Z06. Not to sound pro Chevy, I bought an 05 GT stick last month, and my interest in trying roadracing as a hobby is high. I almost bought a new on the showroom floor 04 Z06, for $45K in December $9K of MSRP, they wanted to hose me on my Ford Truck trade. 03's look like they can be bought with ~5-10k miles on them for the mid to upper $30k's.

What would be my best ticket to fun, and yes I would like to jump in the car (even with say a twin screw SC), and drive to a car meet, or the track.

well i have a 2004 corvette Z06 commerative edition(based on the Le Mans car) and i have driven the 05 pretty hard, and im positive the vette would win in everything possible, the mustang is way 2 heavy, and not enough torque
