2009 Saleen Dark Horse

And I agree.... there isn't a Mustang on the planet worth 85K off the showroom floor.

The Dark Horse has 725hp... 840hp with a tune. Saleen has no idea how to dyno cars, and 5.0 magazine directly confrimed this while it's also cited in motortrend. As I remember you have a tune on your Roush too.

It's a hot looking platform. Still can't get jazzed to the Shaker sticking up through the hood. First few mods I'd make to the appearance is take off the Shaker, get rid of the window covers, and put in the Saleen black-out rear panels. But for that kind of money, I'd pass.

Well if it's a big issue you can clone the dark horse for 47k including a used donor car. I guarantee that number too because I've talked with the companies that are set up to do this and was thinking of setting up a some one i know with this.
At that point you'd have a car that's FASTER than the ZR-1 corvette because of the option for after market tuning on the supercharger pulley they use and also putting in the SMS race suspension in the car. Saleen is seemingly even more paranoid than Ford on blowing an engine so you can get 20% more hp out of the motor with just a pulley and 15% with the track tested SMS suspension .

Saleen's do not have the broad market appeal that a Corvette has, and it will be tough getting anywhere near your cost of ownership out of it.
Bottom line, it is still a Mustang. It started out as a $25K car.

What exactly untrue about what I said. Maybe it stated as a $20K Mustang?
Bottom line as a past Saleen owner and will have another in the future, it is getting out of hand with the $85K cars or $35K cars that don't even carry the Saleen name.
Saleen sales are in the crapper, so why focus on another car that is past the average Saleen owners budget, just so enthusiast's can go ooh and ah?
Bottom line, I would guess most people on this board, no matter how much loyalty to the Saleen brand would take a ZR1 in a freaking heartbeat.
