Default no regrets

Here's my story. I had a 90 4 cly. auto around here for a long time. Excellent car for a 5.0 conversion. I found a wrecked donor car, 5.0, 5 speed. Wow that was a job !! auto to 5 speed, hard on this ole man. I put all the fuel injection, computer, wiring harness, changed fuel pump the whole works. Detailed everything, looked real good. The day came to start it. All I got was a smoking wire. Seems there was some kind of incompatibility between the 89 engine harness and the 90 dash harness. After a lot of head scratching I gave up. Took all the fuel injection stuff off, took a picture of it and sold it on E bay. Bought me a used intake, used carb, rebuilt duraspark dissy. Running the in tank pump through a reg right now, might go with a mach pump someday ( like to keep things simple ). Yesterday I got to that spot again. Turned the key and Boom, it was running. That 302 looks pretty good sitting there without all that crap all over the place. My wife and I have new cars ( i have an 07 GT ) so I know about how " nice " fuel injection is. I'm 64 yr. old. I grew up with carbureted muscle cars. I know you can't turn back time but if I gotta choose between a 22 year old computer controlled car with all it's little gremlins running around turning on the famous " check engine light " and a carb. Give me the carb any day. Enough of my ranting, enjoy your life.
