I had brenspeed install their 302 in my block. I added to my fuel system as well and turned up the boost. I've only made it to the track once this year and it was busy the day I went. Managed only 3runs. I was also messing with my tire pressure and I was just starting to get dialed in before it rained. I think my car has tens in it but I have also added some sound deadening material throughout which made a big difference and I like it but the extra weight comes at a cost at the strip. So anyway here it is
What type of heads are you running with the new forged 302? do you think dropping the gears down to 3.73's make a difference in the ET or trap??
I asked Brent from brenspeed about gearing and he said with 410s you need more power to keep your speed up so I don't think 373 will help. I'm sure some opinions on that will vary. I'm happy with how she runs. I think my 11.2 run would have been a 10 run if weren't for the sound deadening I added. It's double layered through out the car and that **** is heavy. I did ask Brent how they stage with a stall and he said they generally see good times bringing the rpms up to about a 1000 and then launching. He also suggested when staging to stage first and trip the first light and then just barely catch the second light. He said that can make a good difference as well. I'm referring to the beams you trigger to get lined up.
And tire pressure that I'm happy with. I was at around 19 or 20 on that run. I was gonna drop it down to around 17 or 18. But it rained
