Default 02 V6 No Crank Help

I have a 2002 Mustang-V6, won't crank over, I pulled starter relay and jumped pins 30 & 87, car fires right up, replaced relay but same problem.Need help troubleshooting, I'm thinking ignition switch or transmission sensor but don't know what to check. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

CHeck the ignition swith at the base of the column. You should be able to unbolt it and work the actuator rod by hand to see if it works.

My wifey’s ’98 Mustang had a similar issue. I had just put the motor back in after fixing a bunch of leaks, rebuilt front suspension, replaced rack and a bunch of other stuff. I was on its maiden voyage in the parking lot of my local alignment shop. Turn the key and nothing. No click, no nothing. Did the same jumper across 30 & 87 and it started right up. The Neutral Safety Switch was the problem. Once I got home I figured it out after little trial and error when I noticed that it would start without problems if I put the car in Neutral first. Ran some voltage drop tests on the sensor and sure enough, no juice would pass through it when in park. Only neutral. Replaced the sensor and it hasn’t been a problem since.

Hope that helps. Good luck...

Thanks Guys, I plan on pulling the ignition switch first and testing it, my Haynes manual actually has a good section on testing the switch, I did try starting the car in Neutral but no luck. So I'm hoping it's the ignition switch. Will get to it this weekend and let you know.
Do you all know if the neutral safety switch is part of the transmission sensor or is it a seperate switch, the manual does not have much on that.

Its a separate switch. On an AODE/4R70W auto transmission it is on the drivers side where the shift linkage is on the side of the transmission around the middle of the trans oil pan.

I’m not sure where it is on a manual transmission, but it will be a separate sensor. Its often called the Transmission Range Sensor too.

Good luck...

It was the ignition switch, pulled the original and tested between pins as in the Haynes manual showed, replaced the switch and good to go, Thanks for the help!
