Default trasmission 4r70w

I have a transmission out of a 98 ford explorer with the 5.0L it is an aode 4r70w that is brand new does not even have 100 miles on it.

a friend of mine has a 99 mustang with the v6 in it and the transmission went out of it I am thinking about buying the car if my transmission will fit it. I do relize I would have to change the tailshaft housing but will my transmission work?

I don’t see why not. Make sure the mounting holes on the bell housing match up with the wholes in the engine block, and you should be fine. You’ll probably also have to replace the tail shaft itself, not just the housing.

I’d also recommend contacting a local transmission shop to see what they think.

Good luck...
