Default 03' v6 swap to 5.0

I have an o3' v6 mustang I'm taking the 5.0 out of a grand marquis. What all do I need to make this work I was told I only need a v8 flywheel and press use plate the rest should just bolt right up...is this right or is there more involved

Need a better trans, rear, stiffer front suspension, crossmember from a 94-95 mustang, harness, computer, I'm sure I missed something.

If you have a 5.0 grand marquis just build that. There is plenty of aftermarket, anything that will fit a crown Victoria will fit.

The more I see these types of threads the more I think about whats needed to do this swap. We always assume you need a 94/95 k-member. But do we really? Saleen was installing 351s into these cars thru 2000 and SVT installed a 5.4L using the stock k-member. What mounts were they using?

Has anyone actually tried to use a 96-04 k-member with different motor mounts to install a 5.0L

I have a 5.0L block and I can easily get a k-member. maybe I will try to find a set of mounts that work

A 94-95 cross member can prolly be sourced and bought cheaper than the saleen motor mounts. As well as mounts wear out eventually unless they are solid metal, which I'm sure saleen prolly didn't do, which makes it that much easier to maintain with standard 5.0 mounts versus having to purchase more parts from saleen.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I was just thinking there has to be other ways. We sixxers are probably the most ingenuitive group on here due to lack of aftermarket support. Im sure we could find another way.
