I've raced an 2003 stock when my mustang was stock. It was auto VS manual, dead even from a dig and roll every time.

Stock base auto RSX is a mid-16 sec car, stock 5-sp high 15...so yeah, both are slow.

I have seen some base 5sp's get low 15's heavily modded n/a, best i've seen auto do n/a is a 15.7.

It'll be close, you won't spank him...he may have no torque but also weighs 500-600 lbs less. Vtec is actually a pretty efficient power-economy sytem...true i-vtec, with lobes for both intake/ exhaust. RSX-S, new Si, GSR, Prelude, S2000, old coupe Si. Then you have vtec thats just on the intake, which is soley for economy...base RSX/ EP3 Si, every Civic with vtec, the Honda Suv's etc. Real Vtec is a blast to drive because you really feel, and hear, the rush of power when it engages.

why does everyone seem to have such a huge hate for v-tec. ok, alot of import drivers think v-tec is god when it isn't, but it is a very impressive technology. The new civic si and rsx-s get 200+hp from a 2.0L 4. We get 210 from a 4.0L v6...and the torque problem is made up for with great trannys and light weight. In my opinion, it doesnt matter how you get speed and handling, its if you do, and the rsx-s and new civic si are just as fast as the 05-06 v6 if not faster and DEFINATELY out handle them.
