I have a 1990 LX Convertible with 5.8 swap and T5. I want to go to 5 lug wheels and checking if I do this, can i use any 5 lug rims for the newer Mustangs? How large and how wide? I like the more vintage muscle car style wheels but I also would like to use 17" rims minimum, any Suggestions? Or point me to someone who knows.

The off-set of an S197 is gonna be too great, in most cases. I would ask you to measure the additional off-set you GAINED with your conversion and do the math as to what you can run now.
