Beechmont 2018 Mustang GT

An Ohio Ford dealership has introduced this low-cost, warranty-friendly package with help from Roush.

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT is the most powerful car to ever wear that name, with 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, but with a little boost, the 5.0-liter V8 will produce far more power. Beechmont Ford in Cincinnati, Ohio, has announced that they are offering an in-house package for the new Mustang GT -with 700 supercharged horsepower, a price starting under $40,000 and a 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Beechmont 2018 Mustang GT

Beechmont Ford is not the first dealership to offer a turnkey high performance package for the Mustang, but this is the first report we have seen of a dealership offering a package like this for the 2018 Mustang GT. Beechmont adds a Roush Stage 1 supercharger package, lifting the output from 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft to 700 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque.

When this package is applied to the 2018 Ford Mustang GT fastback with the 300A popular equipment package and the 6-speed manual transmission, it has an MSRP of $39,995. That does not include the applicable local taxes or the licensing fee of $283.50, but for roughly the MSRP of the stock 2018 Mustang GT Premium Fastback, Beechmont Ford will sell you a base GT fastback with 700 horsepower for a touch over $40,000.

The company offers a long list of other in-house performance upgrades and aesthetic items including custom paint jobs, but if you simply want a 2018 Ford Mustang GT with 700 horsepower, you can buy that very car from this Ford dealership in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mind you, buyers can upgrade to the Premium model, the convertible or a car with the 10-speed automatic transmission, but the bottom line here is that for right around $40k – you can buy a new Mustang from a dealership with 700 horsepower.

A Warranty-Friendly Package

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this 700-horsepower package for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT is that it is warranty-friendly. Beechmont Ford is an official Roush retailer and Roush worked with Ford on many of their high-performance components so that they can be installed by an approved dealer without negatively impacting the factory warranty. As a result, this 700-horsepower package comes with a 3-year-, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty that is valid at every Ford dealership in the USA.

Even though the car has an extra 240 horsepower, it is protected by a similar factory warranty to the Mustangs that come straight off of the assembly line.

Length of Build

We spoke with Terry Reeves, the man who handles the orders of these 700-horsepower Mustangs. He provided us with some details on the time it takes to actually get your hands on one of these new muscle cars.

For an in-stock 2018 Mustang GT, customers can expect to wait two-to-three weeks for the build to be completed, but right now, the dealership is waiting on superchargers from Roush. Even with that in mind, buyers are lining up for their warranty-friendly 700-horsepower package so that when the parts are available, their build can begin. Once cars and superchargers are in stock, buyers can expect to be enjoying their boosted muscle car in less than a month from the date that the order it.

Finally, Reeves explained that Beechmont will install their kit on previously-owned Ford Mustang GTs, so to get this package, you don’t need to buy the car from this Ohio dealer. If you bought a 2018 Mustang GT elsewhere, Beechmont will install their 700-horsepower package for $8,995 and it will be subject to the same three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, starting with the original in-service date of the vehicle.

Also, anyone with a 2011-and-newer Mustang can turn to Beechmont for a similar package, although output and price varies by year. However, those older models can also benefit from the warranty protection, although with it being a three-year deal, vehicles older than 2015 are already outside of the warranty period.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
