I’ll give these car thieves one thing: they certainly are ballsy.

Having the nerves to steal any car right in front of someone’s house these days takes a lot of guts. But having the galls to steal a ’67 Mustang dragster, trailer tow rig, and all in broad daylight is like toying with death if you ask me.

The race car, valued at $110,000, was stolen from Mike Chadwick, a 68-year-old resident of San Ramon, California. Some speculate that the thieves had been targeting Chadwick for awhile, according to an Art of Gears report.

Needless to say, Chadwick, who has been racing the Mustang as a hobby, is still trying to digest it all.

“Racing always put a smile on his face,” Chadwick’s daughter, Krysten Radke, told local CBS affiliate KPIX 5 in the initial report. “I’ve been handing him wrenches and sockets since I was 8 years old. He will be 69 years old next month and he has been saying that this racing season would be his last because he was ‘getting too old for it’.”

Radke said her dad had plans to sell the race car and put the money towards his retirement.
